"OBITUARY OF BARBARA J. ANDERSON"

     Barbara J. Anderson, 89, of Kahoka, formerly of Wyaconda, died Sunday, 21 January 2007, at Keokuk Area Hospital.
     She was born the daughter of Ralph and Jewel (Thomas) Drescher on 13 October 1917 in Clark County, MO. Jewel passed away early in life, and Barbara was adopted by Roscoe and Nellie (Martin) Drescher.
     Barbara lived most of her life around Fairmont. She married Bennie Waterman on 30 August 1936. He preceded her in death in November 1957.
     The Waterman's had three children: Faye Ann, Ronald and Richard James.
     After Bennie's passing, Barbara married Vic Des Vaux in 1962. He was killed in a car accident in March of 1967. In April of 1968, she married James Anderson. He preceded her in death on 10 May 1994.
     Barbara was a member of the Bear Creek Baptist Church and moved to the Wyaconda Baptist Church in 1957. She played the piano there for many years.
     "Everyone knows the life I lived. There is no more to be said," Barbara said. "I loved my Lord and my family very much."
     She was preceded in death by her parents and adoptive parents; her husbands; a baby sister; a daughter-in-law, Doris, and a step-grandchild, Grant.
     She is survived by her children Fay and husband Dick Pruett of Wyaconda, Ronald and wife Shirley Waterman of Kahoka, and Richard James and wife Dorothy Waterman of Luray; 10 grandchildren; 6 Step grandchildren; and many great and great-great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren.
     Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. on Wednesday, 24 January, at the Gerth Funeral Chapel in Wyaconda, with the Rev. Ernest Deatrick officiating. Allen and Louise Fitzgerald performed Amazing Grace and How Great Thou Art. Richy Pruett, Lonnie Waterman, Leslie Waterman, Mike Schantz, Mark Waterman, and Jonathan Waterman served as pallbearers. Burial was in the Fairmont Cemetery.
     Memorials, in lieu of flowers, are suggested to the Sever Library and can be left at or mailed to the Gerth Funeral Service, 115 N. Main St., Wyaconda, MO 63474.
