NELLEMS, NELLUMS, NELMES, NELMS, WALKER posted by Kay Mathias on Tuesday, March 14, 2000

I am trying to locate information on Hiram Edgar NELMS b. 1875 in IL and who died in FL it is believed. He was married to Lola Viola (WALKER) of IL b. March 1878 and died in FL. They had children: Ommer Henry b.25 March 1902,  Alfred Herbert b. 1914,  Marshall Lee b. 10 May 1912,  Bertha May b. 9 Feb. 1895,  Ruby b. May 1896,  Loren DeBell b. 17 April 1898 (my grandfather) d. 4 Oct. 1960 in Fulton Co., KY,  Hershell (Pee Wee) B. 1906, and a child who died in infancy.  All of the children except Marshall are born in IL. Marshall was born in MO. The family is believed to have moved to Charleston, MO c. 1911 and this would be consistent with his birthdate in 1912. I do not have a lot of information other than this. I know most of this family moved to Florida prior to 1960 when my grandfather, Loren NELMS died. I also know that at the time of his death, Lola (WALKER) NELMS was living in a trailor next door to my grandparents in Fulton, KY, but I have no idea how long my great grandfather had been dead at the time. I will be glad to share what information I have with you. I got information about a Hiram Edgar NELMS who was born in IL in 1875 who was the son of James and Nancy NELMS, but none of their information matches any of mine so this cannot be the same Hiram E. that I am searching for. Can you help me???   Kay Mathias    kbaby@apex.net

They lived in Scotland County, MO, but Elizabeth married Daniel Boone HAYDEN on 21 July 1858 in Clark Co., MO. She had two children by him and died in about 1862. I assume she may be buried in Clark County.  Ruby Coleman rcoleman@inebraska.com

I am looking for ancesters/descendants of my gg grandparents, Lemuel WILSON and Frances Jane (DEWEY) WILSON of Clark Co., MO. They were married in Clark Co. in 1846. They may have had as many as 11 children who may not have been reared together. one was my g grandfather, Louis (Lewis) Bartlett Wayland WILSON. I have found the name WAYLAND only on his Death Certificate. In Clark Co. I have found a gentleman named Lewis Bartlett WAYLAND, but he was born in 1823! I have found families with the surnames of WILSON, WAYLAND, LEWIS, and BARTLETT, but have not yet tied them together. Does anyone have info regarding ancesters, siblings or children of Lemuel and Frances WILSON?

DEWEY, WILSON posted by Harold Wilson on Wednesday, March 29, 2000

I am seeking information on the children of Lemuel and Frances Jane (DEWEY) WILSON. They were born in Clark County between 1846 and 1860. They  are: (1) Miltin WILSON (2) Josephine WILSON (3) Louis/Lewis Bartlett Wayland WILSON, born 1853. (4) Garrett WILSON Louis eventually left Clark Co., but I am not certain what happened to the others. They may not have lived together some time after 1860, and may have remained in the county.

WILSON posted by Harold Wilson on Wednesday, March 29, 2000

While researching the families of Lemuel WILSON and his son, Louis Bartlett WILSON in Clark Co., I found a reference to a Wilson Family Cemetery. It was titled "Cemetery Inscriptions of Clark County, Missouri". Author is Wilma W. Dunlap. Was published by the author in St. Louis, Mo., in 1973. Does anyone know where this cemetery is and if this title can be found?  Thanks,  Harold W. Wilson
