TRYON, Richard David. Was born about 1845/6 in Clark co, MO. Have not yet identified his family, but did find a Jacob A & his son Charles' family in this co from 1840 & 1850 census.
All I know for sure is RD listed father born in PA (both Jacob & Charles were born PA) & I believe his mother was listed as born in KY.
He was in St Clair co 1870 census & in 1900 census he was in Wasco co, OR & he died there 1909.
He was married to Mary Frances (PUGH) in MO & they had 5 children that I know of.
Any info will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Lee

FARRELL, LIPS posted by Mary Farrell Schwenk on Monday, June 9, 2003

Hello! My name is Mary Farrell Schwenk. My father Robert Oral FARRELL is burried in the cemetary in Wyaconda. Also, his father Robert Alexander FARRELL, his mother Belle Morehouse FARRELL, and his grandparents are also in that cemetary. My father had the gates constructed there in 1931 and later my mother had the other set of gates built after my father died in 1947 in his memory. My father died when I was eight years old, so I have few memories of him and his early life. I doubt that there is anyone who remembers anything about them, but on the off chance that someone does, I would be so happy to hear from them. Also, do you have any idea where I could find a copy of the Wyaconda Centennial ? The only names I can recall from my childhood are Mildred and Arthur LIPS. Any information on my family or the Centennial book will be greatly appreciated.
Mary

BOWLES, CHAPPELL, DALE, MEDSKER, MILLER posted by Lori Henrickson on Sunday, June 22, 2003

I am seeking any information on my gggrandmother's family. Her name was Mellie J.(MILLER) BOWLES. She was born on September 6, 1852 in Bullitt Co Ky. Her father was Martin J. MILLER and married her mother, Louisa J.(CHAPPELL) in Bullitt Co Ky in 1845. They had five children: William, Benjamin, Mellie, George and Levi. I believe they followed the CHAPPELL family to Clark Co Mo around 1860. I cannot find any record of Louisa after they left Bullitt Co. and believe she must have died before they left or shortly after. Martin J. MILLER remarried in Lewis Co Mo on Aug 16, 1866 to Mrs. Elizabeth DALE. My grandmother remembers Levi MILLER and I would love to get any information on the MILLER and CHAPPELL families. Mellie is buried in Fairmont Cemetery, as is her husband John BOWLES, Levi MILLER and his wife Catherine, and many of the CHAPPELL family.
Mellie and John Bowles had four children: Martin W. Bowles, Louisa(Medsker), Levi M! . Bowles and Ivey. They where all raised and attended school at Fairmont. Levi was my ggrandfather.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

BOWLES, CHAPPELL, MILLER posted by Lori Henrickson on Sunday, June 22, 2003

I am seeking any information on John BOWLES, married to Mellie J (MILLER) in Clark Co Mo on Aug. 13, 1873. I believe he was born in North Carolina in 1823 but must have lived in Kentucky for some time. He had previously been married and had a son, George W. BOWLES from this marriage, born in 1856 in Iowa. John enlisted in the civil war while living in Des Moines and must have moved to Clark Co. shortly after his discharge in 1865. I have not been able to find any information on John's parents or his life prior to the civil war. He and Mellie had four children of which three survived them. Martin W. BOWLES b.1876, Lou b.1875, Levi b.1879, and Lvey b.1880-1881. John and Mellie lived and died in Fairmont and their children attended school there. John was my gggrandfather and Levi was my ggrandfather.
My ggrandfather Levi knew very little of his fathers' family as John was 30 years older than Mellie. It has been told that her family disowned her when she married John Bowles because of their age difference. Mellie was the daughter of Martin J. MILLER and Louisa (CHAPPELL) and was born in Bullitt Co Ky.
